These 2 recipes are great because my kids would always pop open the ones from the store and the Chiropractor. Now we no longer buy ice packs; we make them.

Ice Packs – shapeable #1

ice1

Ingredients:

  • 1 Part Rubbing Alcohol
  • 3 Parts Water
  • 2 Ziplock Freezer Bags

Put ingredients into a zip lock bag and close. Place that zip lock bag into another zip lock bag and freeze. The Alcohol prevents the water from freezing all the way. 2 Bags prevent leaks.

If the ice pack is too hard, add more alcohol, if it is to soft then add more water.

 Ice Packs – shapeable #2

ice2

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Dawn Dish Soap
  • ½ Cup Rubbing Alcohol
  • 2 Ziplock Bags

Put ingredients into a zip lock bag and then close. Place that zip lock bag into another zip lock bag and freeze. The Alcohol prevents the mix from freezing all the way. 2 Bags prevent leaks.

I needed to add some water to this one. Mine did not freeze at all with this mix until I added the water. I never measured the water, I just opened the bag and ran water into it.
